Most founders treat every decision like it carries the same weight. It doesn’t, and that’s where the energy bleeds out.
Some decisions are 10X decisions. They move the entire business. Defining who your ideal customer is, your pricing, your positioning, your first real hire, and just as importantly, who you decide not to hire, what you decide not to build.
And then there are 10% decisions. The exact shade of blue on your logo, the wording of an internal Slack post, and which calendar tool the team uses. These feel productive sometimes, but they’re cosmetic, forgettable. So here’s the move. Before any meeting, task, or plan you have this week, ask yourself one question: Is this a 10X decision driving or a 10% decision?
Use your best energy, your sharpest, most rested thinking on the 10X calls. Everything else, you batch it, or you delegate it. Do not spend your peak hours picking a font. This is a foundational lens. The next nine all build on this. Watch the 10 Micro-strategies for founders mini-course for free in our Iconic Founders community
